About the Tour

Modeled after the ghost tours found in big cities all over the country, the Ghosts of Kalamazoo Historic Tour hopes to provide history with a twist — delivering the weird, the haunted, and the historic stories found throughout Kalamazoo.

Each night your ticket will be good for a 35-to-45-minute walking tour around Kalamazoo. This year, there are three unique Tours available.

Tickets are $7/night per person, or you can attend three tours for $18/person.

The Ghosts of Kalamazoo Historic Tour is owned and operated by the Kalamazoo Jaycees and is staffed by a group of dedicated and loyal volunteers.

Tour History

Since 1981, the Kalamazoo Jaycees have held a “haunted” event in the month of October in order to raise needed funds for worthy causes in our community. In 2007, we debuted a new event unique to the area – the Ghosts of Kalamazoo Historic Tour.

After selling out two nights last year (and donating $1,900 to Generous Hands, Inc.), we are bringing the Tour back to life for 2008, bigger and better than ever!

Who we are helping

All proceeds from the Tour will be donated to Warm Kids, a local charity that helps area children get new coats, boots, hats and mittens for winter.

Cash donations are welcome and will go directly to this charity.

Is the tour scary?

Nope, we’re a change of pace from the typical Haunted House scene. We’re not trying to frighten anyone, promise any spiritual encounters, do any “Ghostbusting”, etc. There are a TON of great and weird stories around Kalamazoo, and we’d love to pass them along!

Children under 12 are discouraged from going on the Tours, as younger kids might be looking for something a little more scary. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Space is limited!

In order to provide the best experience, we’ll be keeping group sizes small. Attendance will be limited each night, and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. However, you can reserve your spot by pre-registering!
